Northern Territory police officers have an entitlement in respect of housing.

The PATD 1/2011 amalgamates all agreements in respect of police housing. To view the PATD 1/2011 click here.

The original agreement is detailed in the 2005 Housing Consent Agreement.

The entitlement can be accessed in two ways. A member can supply his or her own accommodation in which case the entitlement will be a housing allowance paid fortnightly (clause 27.2.2).

Alternatively a member will be supplied a property rent free in the locality that they are working. This property is to meet the GEH standards.

Where there are specific requirements, or housing shortages, houses can be sourced that do not meet the GEH standards in all areas. The Variation Clause to the 2005 Housing Consent Areement refers. This is often referred to as member's choice.
