The Northern Territory Police Association (NTPA) has welcomed today’s announcement that The Hon. Nicole Manison MLA, will continue as Police Minister in the Chief Minister’s newly formed cabinet.

NTPA President Paul McCue said stakeholder engagement is crucial for decision-making on NT law and order issues.

“The Association has enjoyed a productive relationship with Minister Mansion since she took over the Police portfolio from the Chief Minister in June 2018.

The Minister has already contacted President Paul McCue to schedule a meeting on police priorities over the coming four years.

“We look forward to working with the Minister on addressing the key issues identified by our membership in the lead up to the August poll,  including remote policing, assaults on police, mental health and wellbeing support services, and changes to the archaic internal discipline system,” said Mr McCue.
