The Northern Territory Police Association (NTPA) this morning continued our support of Constable Zach Rolfe and his family as the decision from the High Court was handed down.

Following the decision of Justice Jacqueline Gleeson to grant a stay of the trial, President Paul McCue and Vice President Chris Wilson accompanied Constable Rolfe to the Darwin Supreme Court, as he appeared before Acting Justice Dean Mildren.

President Paul McCue said “the delay in this trial, due to commence today, affects Constable Rolfe, his family, all police officers involved, and the wider community, all who were hoping the trial commenced today."

Police across the NT and Australia are waiting on this case intently given the circumstances, and the NTPA will continue to provide support to Constable Rolfe and his family as he vigorously defends the charges”,  Mr McCue said..

A new date for the Trial depends on the decision of the High Court, and presently the Special Leave application is listed for argument on 10 September 2021.
