The Northern Territory Police Association (NTPA) has launched a survey of its membership, which will directly contribute to the Association’s comprehensive submission to the NT Police Resource Review.

NTPA President Nathan Finn said the survey will gather member feedback on key issues, including ongoing staffing and resource concerns, the constant requirement for overtime, as well as identifying challenges in attracting members and their families to remote stations.

“The NT Police Resource Review is the first comprehensive review of its kind in a decade. The views of our members, the pressures they’re under and the sentiment of our members is incredibly important to provide evidence-based feedback and recommendations to the Senior Police Executive and NT Government to help drive much-needed change in the agency.

“While many of the issues our police are facing may seem obvious, we’re seeking member feedback to provide tangible evidence to support our submission.

“The survey includes questions from past member polls to track trends and changes related to staffing levels, police perception of support from the NT Government, members' intentions to exit the police force, and overall morale.

“The NTPA survey will close this Friday 22 December 2023, and the results will be made public in the New Year,” said Mr Finn.
